Through the woodland path at Hardwick Heath and across the butterfly meadow to the public footpath alongside farm fields. The path led to Hencote Lane, from there along the lane towards Fox and Pin Lane. We walked past the Nowton almshouses with their Latin inscription and up past Thatched Cottage with its hares on the roof. Took a wrong turning and found ourselves in a farm dumping ground so had to backtrack to the stile where we walked across a field and then a meadow which led us to Monk's Vineyard and eventually Nowton Road where we walked past Nowton Court on the way home. On the way we saw trees, wildflowers, sheep, a pheasant and a hare in the far distance. Total just over 6 miles.
